MGS Feedback - 27/02/15

- Start creating a poster based on codes and conventions for traditional poster layout.
> Choose a range of stills from my footage that best communicate the message of my short film.
> Analyse at least three different similar posters from my genre, looking at copy, colour, image, camera and tag line.
> Once analysed, use this sense of inspiration to create my own.
> Look into film reviews within publications that would feature my film; online publications, etc. Sight and Sound; Layout of the review, images used, vocabulary used and I need to review my own film. Or any other independant film magazines that would cover independant type products - Cinéast.

Annie Dillard - Audio #1

Above I have uploaded a placeholder as I have been unable to record Ms. Lambert as of yet. This will help me with the timings when matching up audio and visuals.

11/02/2015 - Soundscape Research

Over the past week I have began to look into what sounds I could blend with the audio track/narrative overlay, it has become evident that I am able to use sounds from the footage I took in Wales as it is rich enough but as well as this I will use natural sounds from places such as the video linked below;

I plan to blend all of the sounds together in order to make a sound-scape that fits perfectly with the visuals but does not take the main focus off of them. I plan for my sound-scape to simply enhance the visuals as well as the emotion in my short film.

Parts of the audio taken from my footage that I am able to use are sounds such as;

  • Water,
  • Wind,
  • Birds,
  • Vehicles.

Feedback - MGS 05/02/15

- Need to begin researching sound for film by looking at other travel based short films - copyright free sound which I can then blend into a soundscape.

> I am able to use certain parts of the audio from my recorded visuals, such as;

  1. Water,
  2. Birds,
  3. Vehicles.

Location Photos from Wales

Above is a landscape shot taken on the Cnicht in North Wales; this is where the drone footage is taken.

Above is again taken on the Cnicht in North Wales; this image is possibly going to be used for my film poster, the plan is to have the film title - 'Seek Your Spirit' placed along the horizon line.

The two images above are taken from the summit of the Cnicht. Looking South West and North East.

The two images shown above are taken in Porthdinllaen along the Llyn Peninsula of North Wales; I did not film too much here as the natural lighting was not great and due to this I could not get many decent shots.

Two images of Criccieth beach, this is where, or around where most of my filming took place; sunrise, the beach and elements of nature such as shrubbery and animals will be prominent in these shots.

With all of these images I will be able to compile a small digital storyboard, alongside this I will show the text that will be spoken in the overlay with each shot.
